Look down the page, there are posts regarding jet kits for 2000/2001 models, a dealer who has individual jets for sale and experiences of others who have re-jetted. Also I think one of the early reviews on the home page discussed using a dyno to re-jet with SuperTrapp muffler. Keep in mind that altitude effects the process, and I feel there is a stacking of tolerances on Savage engines that make some more prone to backfire than others. I feel the ignition timing leaves alot to be desired on mine, but it is determined by the program in the ignition module and not changeable by me. It advances the spark based on engine speed, with no accounting for load, air density, fuel octane, etc.. Guess I diverged from jet kits, but it is all related to engine performance and the infamous backfire. Also keep in mimd that any small air leak in the exhaust system will admit air (oxygen) on decel and make any excess fuel in the exhaust burn rapidly.
